The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2026 stands as the definitive global business event for future energy, clean technology, and sustainability. Taking place from January 13–15, 2026, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, this 18th edition is expected to be the most ambitious yet, uniting over 55,000 attendees, 800 exhibitors, and 350 expert speakers from across the globe. Hosted by Masdar as a core pillar of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, WFES 2026 bridges the gap between high-level climate policy and real-world industrial action.

Strategic Focus: The FUSE AI Debut

One of the most significant shifts for the 2026 summit is the introduction of the FUSE AI Zone. As the oil and gas storage industry moves toward “Agentic AI” and digital twins, WFES is dedicating a first-of-its-kind exploration zone to artificial intelligence. Over 40 companies will demonstrate how AI can optimize renewable integration, enhance grid stability, and provide predictive maintenance for complex energy infrastructure. For midstream professionals, this represents a vital look at the software that will manage the multi-molecule storage hubs of the future.

Conference Tracks and Multi-Molecule Storage

The summit is structured around seven specialized conference tracks, including Solar & Clean Energy, Water, Eco-Waste, and Green Finance. Of particular interest to storage operators is the Solar and Clean Energy Conference, which addresses the strategic challenge of “stranded renewables.” As solar capacity continues to soar globally, the challenge has shifted from generation to integration. Experts will discuss large-scale energy storage, smart grids, and regional interconnections—essential components for maintaining system reliability at scale.

Hydrogen and the Circular Economy

As a hub for the Middle East’s US$75 billion renewable energy pipeline, WFES 2026 will heavily feature the “Hydrogen Pivot.” With major projects like Saudi Arabia’s NEOM green ammonia plant and the UAE’s hydrogen alliance between ADNOC and Masdar taking center stage, the event provides a roadmap for the transition of traditional gas infrastructure into hydrogen-ready networks. Furthermore, the Circular Economy track will explore zero-waste initiatives and the role of sustainable waste management in the broader energy ecosystem.

The Greenhouse: Empowering Innovation

Replacing the former CLIX platform, The Greenhouse will serve as the summit’s reimagined startup incubator. Hosting over 50 industry-changing startups, this zone connects innovators in clean energy, mobility, and water tech directly with venture capital and corporate partners. For established energy firms, it offers a first-row seat to the disruptive technologies that will define the next decade of the energy transition.
